Hi Climate Savers!
Sorry to take so long to get back to you on this. The good news is that setting up a blog is really easy and on Microsoft's Live Spaces it is free!
You can create your own blog site using http://spaces.live.com
You need to make up a username for the team to use the site. Do this by pressing the Sign In button. This will take you to a login page - where you can click Sign Up.
Select 'Create a Windows Live e-mail address'. You'll want to share the account username name and password with your team mates so best not to use your own email address.
Now you need to enter some details - please work with your team leader to do this. Use your school's post code and your team name as the First/Last name (Climate Savers), with maybe your teacher's email address as the alternate email address. If you care confused by any of this discuss it with your team leader and use the details at http://www.getsafeonline.org/ to guide you.
Once you've completed the form press I Accept to the terms and conditions.
Now you'll be back at Live Spaces and just need to click 'Add to your space'.
Click the Choose Web Address to make up your own web address for the site - it'll be something.spaces.live.com your team name would be good (if someone hasn't already nabbed that!!)
This allows you to customise the things on your web site. The bit you'll want to add is a blog entry - find this under the more entry. You'll see went adding the first blog entry a tool called Windows Live Writer that you can download and use as your word processor for creating blog posts on your PC, you don't to use it, but if you do you'll find it a lot like Microsoft Word.
You can control who is able to see your space using the Change Permissions link. You can limit who see's what by selecting the options - so you can keep the site private to the team, your school friends and families or let the whole world see it.
I hope this helps you get started - do post questions if you have any!
Cheers
Paul
